BJP Yuva Morcha Protests Over Errors in Telangana Intermediate Results

Hyderabad: Members of BJP Yuva Morcha along with students and parents staged a protest in front of Telangana State Board Of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) office on Monday, alleging error in intermediate results.

Last weekend, a news report had quoted government colleges and lecturers as saying they had come across 150 cases where wrong information was printed on the provisional marksheets provided to the students.

They even claimed that several candidates who had appeared for the exam were marked absent. Then again, some of the students marked absent had result of that particular subject printed.  “This shows negligence on part of the board and the third-party, which has been given the responsibility of handling technical services of the board,” a lecturer asked.

Private colleges have complained that many of their students received their marksheets with the wrong combination of subjects. The Dean of a private college alleged that the mistakes range from wrong spellings to wrong combinations, attendance and so on.

The TSBIE had assured they would look into the complaints and rectify the mistakes brought to their notice. “In two cases, the chief superintendent failed to send the blank barcodes and that is the reason why the subject marks were not reflected on the provisional memo, instead it was printed as ‘absent and fail’. In another case, the hall ticket of the candidate was not sent and the result was again printed as ‘absent and fail’…The mistakes will be rectified in the marksheets,” TSBIE secretary A Ashok was quoted as saying by a daily.

He said that if others had genuine complaints, they would have approached the board. “If they do, we will look into it,” he said.
